I have had this little project hanging out waiting to be completed for a long time. The video where the cat is riding the Roomba robot vacuum inspired me to make my own Roomba rider, the Vroomba Cat!

I decided to try a new approach to organizing my patterns and came up with this idea.
A paper storage box + wrapping paper = a cute custom storage box! It was super easy to make, the only thing that was kind of troublesome was the adhesive. I used a spray adhesive to get the paper to stick to the box, but it sort of got everywhere and was a pain to work with. It turned out great though!
I am experimenting with mosaic today. I bought this cute little stool seat stand thing at a thrift store months back and wanted to do something cool with it so I decided to make it into a mosaic stand. I will probably put a plant on it. It has a strange shape to the top though. There is a large hole in it, but I think I am going to mosaic on the bottom, sides, and around the edges. Wherever you see white (which I painted so the wood wouldn’t show through the glass tiles) is where I will be placing tiles. I’m using lots of blues and aquas and a little bit of red. I like aqua and red :)
Right now I spread down about 1/3″ thick of grout because there was this big screw in the middle and I wanted the inner area to be flat for the glass tiles. I’ve never done mosaic before, I hope the grout stays in there and sticks to the wood. Then i will place the tiles on that grout and adhere them with this adhesive stuff i got at the craft store made for mosaics……I really have no idea what I am doing, I am just sort of wingin’ it. Here is a wip image.
I have been seeing lots of inspiring little embroidery things online and decided to give it a shot by myself. First I had a go with some freehand writing and other little embellishments on this little motivator I made. It turned out ok, I think I want to make it again but with different colors and fabrics and stuff.
It seems too dark to me. After realizing I pretty much only had 8 colors of embroidery floss which mostly consisted of hot pink, black, bright greens and a few browns, I decided to go to the store and build a small library of colors to work with in the future. It was fun picking out some colors and sorting them into this handy container.
And I was so excited about all my new floss that I had to make something right away. I found a cool image of a machine embroidered mandala online and decided to make one of my own. This is the mandala in the works with all my floss too…
