Elos Shoes Grand Opening Art Show!

First of all, thanks to everyone who came to the Grand Opening of Elos Shoes on Adams Ave!  It was a great turn out, great food and drink, and all around amazing atmosphere.  A terrific first art event for my work!  Thanks to Lisa and Paul, Elos owners, for displaying my work and including me within their Grand Opening and supporting the local artists of San Diego!  Another Shout out to Brett Greshko, the other very talented artist who also had his work displayed at the showing.

Her are some photos of the work that was displayed at the opening done by myself and Brett.

There was a very positive response to the art as well as the products of the store.  I also wanted to give a shout out to David Wilson, the amazing bartender we had at the event.  I would even go as far to say he added his own artistic touch to the entire event with his drinks.  I loved his Cucumber Cooler he had :)

And last but not least, Brett did a chalk piece on the wall of the store the same afternoon of the Grand Opening.   I personally thought it turned out amazing and loves his use of colors.  It fits perfect within the store and hope to see more of his work like this around San Diego in the future!

I had an amazing time.  My work will be on display for at least a couple months so if you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by and say “Hi” to Lisa or Paul and check out the art work in the store, as well as the awesome shoes and accessories too!

A Girl Calling Her Fox

Made a prequel painting of the Girl and Her Fox.  This is her summoning her new companion before she tames it.

New Art Prints for Sale!

I just went out and bought myself a present.  A new Epson R2000 Photo Printer.  It is an AMAZING printer.  It prints the most professional prints I have ever seen.  So now I can turn some of my art into prints for others to enjoy :)  Here are a few examples of some of the prints I have in my Etsy store right now:

A Girl and Fox Illustration

I decided to sit down and just draw.  I really enjoy doing line work, but I wanted to make something dynamic and slightly simplistic without too much realism.  I decided to make this girl and her pet fox.  I miss drawing, I need to draw more.

Here is a quick mock up of what the process of creating this illustration looked like.  I was having a hard time getting the fox to look right.  He went through a few iterations before I decided on the final line work.   I don’t have a lot of practice drawing animals, but I think he turned out alright.

My First Mini Story Book, “The Creeping Woodsorrel”

I have created my first mini story book called “The Creeping Woodsorrel.”  I have made 50 First Edition printed copies of the book for sale in my Etsy store for only $5!  You should totally go buy one!

The story is about a creeping woodsorrel named Wanda and how she grows and spreads her seeds.

I had tons of fun making this book.  I hand painted in watercolor each illustration and then scanned my work and put the book together on the computer before printing and binding them.

Thank You Dr. Vecchione!

This is a comic style Thank You card I made for my surgeon, Dr. Randal Vecchione, who fixed up my finger after my accident.  I will be giving him the card tomorrow :) He was an amazing doctor and even though I cried like a little baby during part of my surgery and during suture removal, he stuck by me and made sure my finger healed up nicely.  Thank you Dr. Vecchione.  You are the best!!!!

New Watercolor Paintings in my Etsy Shop!

More Tattoo Art

I saw a really cool tattoo in a book I have called Black Tattoo Art and decided to make a similar design but put  my own twist on it and get it on my left forearm.  After completing the tattoo I decided to make a quick illustration out of it!

Watercolor Cats

These dudes are just too cool for school…because they are cats…they don’t go to school.
