Added some Crochet Patterns to my Etsy store!

Hi All!  I dug up some old crochet patterns I had made a few years ago and revamped them a bit and added them to my Etsy store!  If you enjoy Crocheting, try one of my patterns out!

My New Owl!

It has been a while since I posted, but I wanted to share a picture of the owl I received in the Great Owl Crochet Along!  I think he is absolutely adorable!  He is now sitting on my shelf in my work room :)

A nice card from Karla, aka The Itsy Bitsy Spider, came with the owl explaining where my owl came from!  She said he was made by Kathya from Australia!  Thank you Kathya!

I had a lot of fun in the crochet along, I hope to be apart of some more in the future.

My Owl Crochet Along

This is the owl I made for the Great Owl Crochet Along hosted by the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  Isn’t he cute??  He was a hoot to make!  I can’t wait to see the owl I get from the swap and I hope that whoever receives this one enjoys it!  I think I will name him Truffles.

The Great Owl Crochet-Along!

So in light of being apart of the awesome Great Granny Square Swap, one of the participants of that swap started a new crochet swap called the Great Owl Crochet-Along! It is an amigurumi crochet swap!  Totally awesome!!!  The swap is being hosted by The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Strumpet’s Crumpets.

I was looking through the list pf participants and I recognized a handful of artists on there!  6060 is a shop I have made purchases from in the past for amigurumi safety eyes, and then I recognized a few others who had been apart of the granny square swap.   Crocheted HOOTERS soon to come!

Granny Squares Are So Awesome!

Yay!  I finally got my granny squares from the Great Granny Square Swap in the mail today and I am so blown away!  They are all SO AWESOME!!!!  I am so glad I was apart of this really neat craft swap.  There are so many talented people in the world and sometimes it is easy to forget, but once you share and experience your creativity with others you are pleasantly reminded of how awesome people can be :)  Thank you so much Amber Cox over at Hoot-N-Annie for hosting this wonderful granny square swap!

Hoot-n-Annie Granny Square Giveaway!

So the Granny Square Swap was a HUGE success!  Everyone will be receiving their granny squares in the mail any time now and I can’t wait to see every one’s squares!  Unfortunately, one gal backed out at the last minute  so everyone ended up making one extra square.  So Amber over at Hoot-n-Annie is putting the extra squares set up for give away!  Go and check it out!  Wouldn’t it be awesome to get a nice bunch of granny squares made from some of the finest crocheters on the net?!  I think so, but I am already getting a set of granny squares!  So go get your own!

Granny Squares are Complete!

Earlier this week I finished my granny squares for the Great Granny Square Swap. I made 21 squares!  I also made some super ultra awesome limited edition squares which I named “LOL, 80′s” that 5 lucky swappers will receive!  I numbered them to give them rarity as well, because numbering things makes them feel more special.  I totally did NOT run out of green yarn and this was totally intentional. :)  I will post a pic of the squares I receive once I get them.

Granny Square Swap Logo

A creative gal named Steph Dillon made this really awesome logo for our granny square swap!  Here is a link to her blog post with an image.  We are totally official now, watch out!

The Great Granny Square Swap

A few weeks ago my friend showed me a blog post by Hoot-n-Annie about a granny square swap that would take place from February through April.  I thought it would be fun to do since I haven’t gotten a lot of knitting or crochet in for a while.  22 people signed up and everyone has to make 22 granny squares to send to Hoot-n-Annie and then she will create 22 sets of granny squares, 1 from each person, and send everyone their own set of granny squares that everyone made!

Here is a link to Hoot-n-Annie’s blog…

I haven’t decided what I will do with my squares when I get them.  Here are some pictures of the one granny square I made so far…

Knitting Stuff

Mom and I also knitted some things.  We made a number of trial and error fingerless gloves.  I managed to learn me a thing or two about knitting with two circular needles (its pretty cool actually) and now I have some cute gloves to wear while I work on my Wacom Cintiq at work!  It’s a monitor you can draw on, and it can get warm throughout the day.  I like to have some sort of sleeve or glove on so my hand doesn’t get stuck to it while I to draw.  I was using cut up socks before, but now…BEHOLD…the awesome fingerless gloves :)

And I also started this interesting pillow that I saw on a pattern with the yarn.  The yarn is SUPER soft and the first thing I imagined was laying my head on the softness of that yarn.  In progress, but close to being done…my knitted pillow!
