After doing my watercolor sketches, I decided to try and make a few stand alone paintings. I think they turned out rather cute! I want to start incorporating more watercolor art into my work.

A few weeks ago I spent a wonderful afternoon with some of my art buddies. We all got together and had a “Paint Day!” Everyone was painting, while I sat and worked on some crafts. Seeing all the amazingly talented stuff my friends were creating with watercolor and acrylic paints got me inspired. I decided to bust out my watercolor paints and some paper and get painting! Here are some watercolor sketches as I familiarized myself with the medium.

Lots more practice is needed, but I loved how the brush and paint worked almost effortlessly with the paper.

I’ve been working with a friend lately and have been making some art for a game. I wanted to share these cute bugs and some animations I did :) I’ll post a link to the game when it is ready.

And now some teeny tiny GIF animations:

I got a really awesome bangle from my fiance’s mother for the holidays and loved the koi design on it. It’s one of those loose fitting bangles. I’m not a huge jewelry person, but I fell in love with the design and thought it might look really nice as a tattoo! So I did some sketches on the computer of how the tattoo might look. I am thinking about getting it on my wrist on the bottom side and have it sort of wrap up around to the top a bit. I can’t decide if I want it to just be the outline one or have some dot work accentuating the borders instead.
Edit: My friend just told me that this design looks really similar to the US navy submarine warfare pin…So instead of getting this permanently, I might hit the drawing board some more before I go along with it!

A quick sketch of two dudes who want to be ninjas. I’m trying to explore some cute 2D sketches I might be able to turn into something tangible for my Etsy store.

I had an itch to paint something and was inspired by my recent plushies, the Robot Head Dudes. Maybe I will make digital paintings of my creations and sell them too! What do you think?

So I am in the process of designing my next tattoo. I was starting to design some shoulder tattoos that had a lot of meaning about personal growth and a positive outlooks on life but I have really not been motivated to continue with those designs as of late. The more I try to tackle it the less I think I may want to get them. I plan to someday get some shoulder tattoos but maybe that day isn’t here yet.
So I had this other idea floating around in my head about getting some sort of floral-like tattoo on my thigh/hip/waist area. So far all of my tattoos are only black. I was debating on whether or not to do color work for the floral one (as well as the shoulder ones) but decided black work can just be so awesome by itself. The whole meaning behind this one isn’t nearly as substantial as my current tattoos, but it is more of just a symbol of beauty and accepting oneself for whom they are through that beauty. Sort of like my slow realization as i grow older that I am who I am and I think that I am beautiful inside and out no matter what anyone says. So they can go shove it. Especially all those people who promote superficial beauty. Yeah, that’s right. Go take your beauty magazines with all your make-up adds and 80lb models and wipe your ass with it.
My design is a work in progress still, but I would like to share what I have so far. I’m experimenting with shapes and outlines still. This tattoo will be places from about mid thigh all the way up to my waist. I’ll post another image when It’s done :)
